Smart Agent Application

Smart Agent APP aims to carry out a monitoring on network performance, measuring the services actually used by the User in order to identify any degradation and/or any network deficit. Smart Agent APP, when initiated and activated by the User, will work in background under certain conditions still allowing free use of the device, without usage limitations.

By mutual agreement between SMARTS and the User, Smart Agent APP is only used for network test, as shown below, and it can be deactivated/disabled by SMARTS or by the User at any time without notice and/or any explanation.

No sensitive private information will be collected by Smart Agent.

According to this Privacy Policy

SMARTS will collect through the Smart Agent APP technical data from your phone. This Privacy Policy explains the reasons for data collection and processing by SMARTS. We invite you carefully read this disclosure.

If you want agree to the collection and processing of data by SMARTS as indicated in this disclosure, click on the 'Accept' button confirming your choice. If you do not want agree to the collection and processing of data by SMARTS, as indicated in this Privacy Policy, please click the 'Decline' button thus indicating your dissent. If you do not agree to the collection and processing of data by SMARTS, as indicated in this Privacy Policy any data referred to in this disclosure will be sent from the phone via Smart Agent APP.

By accepting this Privacy Policy, you authorize SMARTS to collection, storage and use the information related to your device for the purposes specified herein.

Why do you gather this data?

SMARTS is a provider of products and solutions designed and implemented to help telecommunication operators to monitor and to enhance the quality of experience offered to their subscribers. Smart Agent APP has been designed with the objective of providing a range of features to help end-users understand the quality of service and to interact with their telecommunications network Operator. Smart Agent APP collects technical information that can support the telecommunication network Operator for improving the quality of service provided to its customers through its network. Smart Agent APP thus requires the consensus and User Agreement in order to provide monitoring of the quality of experience of the telecommunication network. SMARTS does not use the data collected through Smart Agent APP if not for the reasons explained in this Privacy Policy.

 

What data is collected from the user's device?

 

SMARTS would like to collect some technical data from your device:

  • Network information to help understand how they can influence the service perception: Signal Level, Cell Identification, MCC (Mobile Country Code) and MNC (Mobile Network Code), LAC (Location Area Code), radio access technology and technology used to download the data, transition between one technology and another (Wi-Fi, 2G, 3G, 4G and 5G), shadows to locate where you do not have service. Negative events of PDP (Packet Data Protocol) type to known network problems (dropped calls, failed calls, out services. Device parameters: Android OS used, manufacturer and model. Download and upload throughput information to find out possible service degradation.
  • The information shown in the “traffic statistics” section is collected to understand the data consumption of the applications. This information are logged per process and never with the details of any URL used. Therefore, the amount of bytes of downloaded and uploaded information for access technology is recorded. Smart Agent APP collects position information in order to locate network events / services mentioned above. SMARTS through Smart Agent APP does not collect sensitive information, such as visited URLs, phone numbers, Keystrokes, etc.

Technical data will be located when location service (GPS) will be activated.

Smart Agent collects information relating to the download and upload traffic of the device, associating it with the cell to which the device is connected, allowing you to create coverage maps of cellular and wifi signals. The information associated with the location is anonymous and it is not possible to trace the identity of the user.

Why Smart Agent uses Accessibility API?

Smart Agent will use the Accessibility Services to intercept the keys pressed by the remote control of your TV and allow you to respond to surveys that could be sent and shown in overlay while using other APPs. The use of this service, in compliance with the rules relating to user data of Google Play, does not involve the collection of any user confidential data. Smart Agent will only collect the answers you provide during the survey.

How are data collected and how often?

Technical parameters above are recorded and stored locally on the device. The device will send the collected data through HTTPS connections to the SMARTS servers. These secure servers will therefore be accessible by SMARTS, just to provide a better service through the monitoring of technical parameters and events described above. Smart Agent APP seamlessly collects data only when you will use the device (with active and unlocked the screen). Once the recorded data has been received and safely stored by a SMARTS server, this will be confirmed to Smart Agent APP and the data locally stored will be deleted. SMARTS will not transmit the data to third parties. Such data will be processed by SMARTS S.R.L. SPIN-OFF UNIRC with registered office and administration in Reggio Calabria (RC), Via Figurella 2A - as data controller of personal data in according to D.Lgs. number 196/2003 (Regulation regarding the protection of personal data) and in according to GDPR number 679/2016 (General Data Protection Regulation) only for the purposes related to the use of Smart Agent APP and in order to improve the network experience of the customer. If the application is closed or deleted, all data will be erased.
